The ‘BLOK Container System’ has been designed to improve the efficiency of container terminal operations. It comprises one (or more) of a Spreader (to pick up to 4 empty containers), a Rig (for twistlock removal and VTL testing), Cert (for accredited certification of the VTLs) and a Terminal Trailer for jigging and transporting multiple containers.
The work required:
BCS has invented and applied for patents on a system for certifying containers lifted in VTL to be safe for handling immediately prior to lifting. BCS invites tenders from experienced qualified consultants to work and produce the system for the BLOK Cert to include the following:-
• Systems Analysis
• Application and database coding
• Terminal and ship’s operating system integration
• Hardware procurement (robust tablet)
• Classification Society witness, approval and acceptance
• Quayside trials
The work is to commence by August 2019.
A fixed price quotation and completion date of the design is required.
All and any shortcomings or unknowns to complete the tender are to be identified.
